The Instant Bookings feature allows renters to pay for their stay instantly on your website. The rental rate and fees are automatically calculated from the rates/fees you provide for each property.#bookingpolicy
Activate Instant Bookings
When a renter submits an instant booking request, they provide payment information directly on your website and you are notified to approve or deny the booking request. You can enable or disable instant bookings at any time.
Navigate to Reservations > Settings and select Instant bookings from the left menu
Toggle the switch to On to activate
Enabling Instant Bookings is only possible after you have activated Stripe for your MyVR account.
Once you activate instant bookings, renters will be able to submit instant booking requests directly through your website. In addition to the standard Inquire Now button that appears on your website, a new Book Now option will appear.
Next the renter will be taken to a synopsis page where they can review a breakdown of rates and fees calculated from the details and criteria you've set for your property. They can choose to continue with the reservation request or contact the owner first if they have any questions.
When the renter clicks Request Reservation they will be taken to a page where they can provide payment information and can review the rental agreement before checking agreement with terms and conditions. If they wish to proceed with the booking, they can submit their payment by clicking Request Reservation once more.
If the renter's credit card payment is successful a Request Processed window will appear. The reservation is not confirmed and no charge will be assigned unless you accept it.
Accept Or Decline Reservation
Once renter's have completed the Book Now process, it's up to you to approve or decline the reservation request.
Step 1: Find Reservation
When a renter submits the payment request, you will immediately be notified via email that you have a new pending reservation request. Navigate to Inbox > Messages in your MyVR account. The status Reservation Requested will appear in the Inbox list view. Click on the reservation request to view details.
Step 2: Choose Approve Or Decline
Clicking on the reservation request will take you to the inquiry details page. Here you can click on Approve, Decline or Modify Reservation and issue a new quote if you so choose.
Step 3: Approve Reservation Request
If you would like to approve the reservation request, click on Approve. You will be taken into your Inbox detail view where you will be able to message the renter with a personal email or select from a list of auto-responders with the Message Actions dropdown menu. When you click Send & Approve Reservation another box will appear asking you to confirm once more. Click Accept Reservation to approve.
Step 4: Decline or Alter Reservation Request
If you don't like any details of the reservation request submitted, you have the ability to alter it or decline it.
If the payment terms aren't to your liking, (perhaps you want to charge an additional fee) you can reply with a new quote for the renter to approve by selecting Modify Reservation.
You can also decline the reservation request entirely.
If you click Decline will be taken into your Inbox detail view where you will be able to message the renter with a personal email or select from a list of auto-responders with the Message Actions dropdown menu. When you click Send & Decline Reservation another box will appear asking you to confirm once more. Click Decline Reservation to decline.
Step 5: View Status Change
In your Inbox list view you can see the changed status of your accepted or declined inquiry. If you declined, your calendar will remain clear for the dates in question.
Step 6: Booking Policy
If you wish you can set a booking policy for your Instant Bookings, which helps manage the instant bookings process by utilizing default settings.
