NOTE:
- Notifications are used for internal communications. For guest communication see Automation Overview
- Two default notification rules are set for Inquiry and Reservation assignees.
- Use the Notification section to add or update primary contact.
- Create new custom notification rules and recipients for Reservation, Inquiry, and Payment events.
Set Primary Notification Contact
Step 1: Navigate to Setup > Notifications
Step 2: Click Primary Notifications
Step 3: Enter primary email address for guest communication notification
NOTE: Email defaults to account owner’s email
Step 4: Enter primary cell number for new Inquiries and Reservations SMS notification.
NOTE: SMS text option only available for primary contact.
Update Default Notification Rules
Step 1: Click Notification Rules
Step 2: Click Edit
NOTE:
- Default Inquiry Assignee and Default Reservation Assignee are based on the User assigned in a specific inquiry or reservation.
- Change or add more recipients.
Create New Notification Rule
Step 1: Click Notification Rules
Step 2: Click New Rule
Step 3: Create Rule Name
Step 4: Click Recipients
Step 5: Complete Recipient information
- Select type of Recipient from the dropdown menu
- For custom recipient, enter email. For recipient types with multiple options (e.g. User, Property Owner), select email from dropdown menu.
- For recipient types with a single option (e.g. Primary Contact, Inquiry Assignee), recipient will appear automatically.
- Toggle Yes/No for Email and Text Message notifications
NOTE:
- Text Message option is for Primary Notification Contact only.
- Multiple recipients can be selected.
- For Property Owner, be sure to restrict notifications to a single property or property group. If Restriction is not set, the Property Owner will receive notifications for all properties.
Step 6: Click Events
Step 7: Toggle Yes/No to select All, or select one or more events.

Step 8: (Optional) Click Restrictions
Step 9: Select Restriction type - Property, Property Group, Time, or Weekday
Step 10: Select “Is or Is Not” and Restriction item
Step 11: Click Create
NOTE: Multiple restrictions can be selected.
Testing Tool
Step 1: Click Testing Tool
Step 2: Enter Event, Property, Event Date, and/or Event Time
Step 3: Click Run Test
Step 4: View Test Results to see the matching rule. Adjust rules if results not as expected.
