Managing Airbnb listings through MyVR is easy. Photos, rates, descriptions, etc. are synced with the Airbnb listing, and reservations and inquiries are managed within the MyVR account. Read more about these offerings for Owners and Property Managers.
IMPORTANT: Things to Know Before you Integrate
If you're new to Airbnb, we encourage you to look at our Channel Cheat Sheet to understand how this channel functions compared to other channels you may be using on MyVR.
Before you integrate with any channel, you want to make sure that all property data is accurate and completely up to date. If you imported your properties directly from Airbnb, we still want you to review your listing profiles in case Airbnb didn't send something over accurately.
Additionally, you will need to know whether to disable or enable taxes to be collected by Airbnb through this app, and you will want to review what fee types are supported by Airbnb and adjust any weekly or monthly discounts at the Airbnb discount level (MyVR has a field for these rates, but Airbnb doesn't actually use those rates). Both of these settings can be applied to a listing before (recommended) or after you integrate. They can also be changed any time.
- Download the Airbnb full integration app
- Add properties to Airbnb from MyVR (including mapping to existing Airbnb properties)
- Add additional listings to Aibnb after you connect
Note: Prior to setting up Airbnb in MyVR, you'll want to create a complete Airbnb account. If you're connecting a listing that needs to stay within a different Airbnb account than what is currently connected, see our Adding Accounts to a Channel App help center article.
Step 1: Log in to MyVR and go to Channels > Full Integration > Select Airbnb App (Owners or PM app) to install.
Step 2: Click "Install Application"
Step 3: Answer survey
Step 4: Agree to install app. Click "I agree"
Step 5: Click Connect to Airbnb.
Step 6: If an Airbnb account already exists, login into Airbnb and accept MyVR connections.
Step 7. From the Airbnb app, click "Add Listings" and select properties to integrate by selecting "Create New Listing" on individual properties. Click Continue.
Step 8: Once a listing is added, we validate the listing to make sure it has all the required information to send to Airbnb.
If any errors occur during health check, they can be updated by clicking "fix it." Review the error message and fix accordingly. Once fixes, navigate back to Airbnb onboarding by clicking "Channel Management" tab in the property.
Step 9: If all validations are passing, check the confirmation checkbox and click "Start syncing."
After the property is added, each new property will need to be mapped to an existing listing (this means the property was already on Airbnb and we want to make sure it's connected to the same one in MyVR) or used to create a new listing (the property has never been on Airbnb).
"Action Required" will show until the mapping is complete in Airbnb.
Step 11: Go to Airbnb.com > Host > Listings > click "MyVR sync"

11A. Existing Listing (the property is already on Airbnb)
If you imported your property data from Airbnb into MyVR, you will want to map the MyVR listing with the existing Airbnb listing. In the https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/sync page, you'll see the MyVR account listings in the left-hand column and the Airbnb available listings in the second column (refer to the screenshot below for an example).
11B. Airbnb Listing: Match each MyVR listing from the first column, to the correct Airbnb existing listing in the second column. Click the drop-down menu and scroll down or search for the existing Airbnb listing.
11C. Sync Settings: You'll want to select Everything sync. There are rare circumstances you would want to use Limited Sync (usually only if a listing is an Airbnb PLUS listing) See Airbnb's article on Limited Sync for more details.
11D. Then Publish the listing.
ONLY FOLLOW THESE STEPS FOR A NEW LISTING (FOR AN EXISTING LISTING GO UP TO 11A)
11E. New Listing (the property is not already on Airbnb, or not already in this Airbnb account)
If you have new listings that haven't been on Airbnb before, you will need to manually create each listing.
11F: On this page, https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/sync select one listing at a time.
Step 11G: Create a new Airbnb listing.
Under "Airbnb Listing," the new listing will show up and need to be created. To do this, click "new listing" from the dropdown menu.
IMPORTANT: The most common mistake when setting up an Airbnb Listing happens during the mapping step in the Airbnb dashboard. Make sure you aren't mapping a new listing to an existing listing as it will require assistance from MyVR support to undo.
Step 11H: Under Sync Settings, choose to sync everything
Once the mapping is complete for either the NEW listings or the EXISTING listings, follow the next steps.
Step 12: Publish listing
We recommend mapping and publishing listings one at a time to avoid duplicates.
After the listing has been mapped, onboarding is complete and your listings will be live and syncing to MyVR.
After an initial Airbnb account connection is created and listings are already live, account owners can add individual MyVR listings to the already linked Airbnb account at any time such as if a PM took on managing new properties or purchased more of their own properties.
First, confirm the property is created in MyVR. To learn how to build a property visit Properties Overview.
Step 1: Log in to MyVR and go to Channels > Full Integration > Airbnb (Owners or PM app) > Add Listing(s)
Step 2: Click on "Create New Listing"
Step 3: Validate property and fix any errors. Within the property, users can get back to adding a listing by selecting "channel management."
Step 4: After fixing the issues, go back to the Airbnb app. Complete property upload, by clicking "Start Integration"
