Things to Know
MyVR locks reservations that were booked on integrated channels so that users don't make the mistake of changing a reservation in MyVR without following the proper workflow to change it on the integrated channel directly as required. Its primary function is to prevent PMs from making the mistake of applying a change or cancellation in the MyVR dashboard that the channel and the traveler otherwise wouldn't know about.
MyVR users ultimately have the ability to unlock a reservation for any reason. Below are a couple common ones that are appropriate;
- Cancel a reservation after a channel confirms it was cancelled it on their end
- Change any data related to the reservation that will serve internal-only purposes (ex. a special tax set up that needs to be reflected in your exports)
- Make any other change that is internal only, and is not expected to be agreed upon by the traveler or the channel
How to Unlock a Reservation
Any channel-booked reservation will have a notification bar at the top of it, reminding users that changes or cancellations need to be handled directly with the channels. Once a user clicks "View Details" they will be provided with a link to unlock the reservation.
