NOTE:
- Once Damage Protection is active, it will be added for all future eligible reservations
- Damage Protection can be deactivated for a specific reservation
- The premium for all covered bookings will be billed, even if the renter is not charged a Damage Waiver Fee
Activate Damage Protection in a new reservation
Step 1: Navigate to Reservations > Reservations
Step 2: Create new Reservation
Step 3: Build a new Quote, click Rental Terms
- Damage Waiver fee for renter automatically included
- Damage Protection at set coverage level automatically included
- Security deposit fee NOT included
Deactivate Damage Protection
Step 1: Toggle Damage Protection to NO
- Damage Waiver automatically removed
- Security deposit automatically included
- Security deposit can be manually removed
NOTE:
- Damage Waiver fee is separate from Damage Protection
- If Damage Waiver fee is deleted, Damage protection will still be active and charged
- You must toggle NO to deactivate Damage Protection
View/update Damage Protection on an existing reservation
Step 1: Navigate to Reservations > Reservations
Step 2: Select Reservation
Step 3: View Reservation Summary for Damage Protection status
Step 4: Click Quote, then New Quote
Step 5: Under Rental Terms tab, toggle Damage Protection Yes/No
Step 6: Continue through tabs, click Save Quote
Step 7: Click Quotes tab, select Set as Reservation Terms from the dropdown menu for the new quote
- Reservation tab summary shows Damage Protection activated
- Finance tab shows revenue of Damage Waiver, expense of Damage Protection premium
NOTE: If a reservation is cancelled prior to arrival, Damage Protection is automatically cancelled and will not be charged by MyVR.
