Message Templates - Creating and Managing Templates

NOTE:

  • Create and customize email templates to be used in manual replies, auto-responders, and automated stay messages.
  • See Help article on email automation types and setup.

Edit Default Email Templates

Step 1: Navigate to Setup > Message Templates > My Templates

NOTE:

  • MyVR provides several standard email templates.
  • These templates can be used as is, or customized as much as you need.
  • Toggle Yes/No for template to appear as an option when replying to renter messages.

Step 2: Click Edit on a template line

Step 3: Customize email using freeform text and smart tags for dynamic text (details below) 

Step 4: Click Save Changes

Create New Template

Step 1: Navigate to Setup > Message Templates > My Templates

Step 2: Click New Template

Step 3: Customize email using freeform text and smart tags for dynamic text (details below)

Step 4: Click Save Changes

Template Customization Options

1. Freeform text fields:

- email name (internal)

- description (internal)

- email subject (appears in email subject line when sent)

- email title (appears in body of email)

2. Freeform text email body

3. From the dropdown menu, select Stay Info, Guest, or Property to display smart tags specific to each type.

4. Drag and drop standard field smart tags into the email body for dynamic text.

5. Drag and drop custom field smart tags into the email body for dynamic text.

Preview Template

Step 1: Click Preview on a template line

Step 2: Verify that smart tags used in the email body are correct.

Step 3: Verify that the email design is correct. See Help article to adjust.
